Halloween Vampire Bite Margarita
A Vampire Bite Margarita is a tequila margarita (2 oz blanco tequila, 3/4 oz lime juice, 1/2 oz orange liqueur) with a “blood” of pomegranate juice and grenadine squeezed in from a needle-free syringe just before serving. It takes about 10 minutes and has roughly 213 kcal and 17% ABV per drink.
The Vampire Bite Margarita starts as a pale, citrusy tequila drink. Each guest then adds a little pomegranate “blood” and watches it curl through the ice. The red shot brings tart fruit and a touch of sweetness, so it is part of the recipe rather than just a prop. A clean, food-grade, needle-free oral syringe makes the moment interactive; pouring the same mixture from a small jug works just as well.

How to make it
- If using salt, moisten only the outside edge of a rocks glass with lime and dip it in salt. Fill the glass with ice.
- Stir the pomegranate juice and grenadine together in a small cup. Draw the full 1 oz into a clean, needle-free oral syringe, or leave it in the cup for pouring.
- Shake the tequila, lime juice and orange liqueur with ice for about 10 seconds. Strain into the prepared glass and add a lime wheel if you like.
- Serve with the red shot on the side. Hold the syringe above the glass and press gently so the liquid streams over the ice; do not put its tip into the drink. Watch the swirl, then stir once before sipping so the sweetness is balanced through the glass.
Recipe notes
Use only a clean food-grade oral syringe without a needle; a small jug gives the same effect.

For a party: Mix the pomegranate juice and grenadine in advance and refrigerate. Make the margaritas just before serving. Put only clean, food-grade, needle-free syringes on the drinks table; never use a medical needle. If you prefer fewer props, let guests pour their red shot from a tiny jug.
For a nonalcoholic version, shake 2 oz chilled orange juice with 3/4 oz lime juice, strain over ice and top with 1 oz sparkling water; use the same pomegranate shot. It is a citrus mocktail rather than a margarita. For other Halloween looks, see the Ghost White Russian and Blackberry Witch Fizz.
