Christmas Ginger Snowball Cocktail
This Christmas Ginger Snowball Cocktail keeps the classic advocaat-and-lime idea but uses ginger ale and soda for a lighter, gently spiced finish. It is creamy, fizzy and lower in alcohol than many holiday cocktails without tasting like a glass of custard.

How to make it
- Chill the highball glass in the freezer for 10 minutes, and keep the ginger ale and soda water refrigerated until needed.
- Cut one thin lime wheel for each serving and set the optional garnish aside.
- Put half of the listed ice into a cocktail shaker.
- Measure the advocaat and pour it into the shaker.
- Measure the fresh lime juice, add it to the advocaat and seal the shaker.
- Shake firmly for 10 seconds, until the advocaat and lime are smooth and the shaker feels cold.
- Put the remaining fresh ice into the chilled highball glass, using one glass per serving.
- Strain the advocaat mixture evenly over the fresh ice, leaving the spent shaker ice behind.
- Divide the chilled ginger ale and soda water evenly among the glasses, then stir each drink gently twice from the bottom.
- Dust each surface with the listed nutmeg, add one optional lime wheel to each rim and serve immediately while lively.

Keep the fizz smooth
Shake only the advocaat and lime; carbonated ingredients never belong in a sealed shaker. Pour the ginger ale and soda slowly down the inside of the glass, then stir just twice so the thick liqueur lifts through the drink without knocking out all the bubbles.
For a richer warm option, try the Witch's Cauldron Hot Buttered Rum. The alcohol-free companion is the Passion Fruit Confetti Fizz. Browse seasonal drinks.
The estimate counts the advocaat, lime juice and ginger ale; soda water, nutmeg and ice contribute negligible calories. It excludes the optional lime wheel and discarded shaker ice. The strength assumes 15% ABV advocaat; check the bottle because brands vary.
