Christmas Cranberry Rosemary Spritz

Jump to Recipe

This Christmas cranberry rosemary spritz is tart, bright and easy to assemble while guests arrive. Use unsweetened cranberry juice if you like a sharp drink; cranberry juice cocktail makes a sweeter version, so start with less syrup.

Cranberry rosemary spritz with an orange slice in a wine glass

Ingredients

  • 1 oz cranberry juice (100% juice or juice cocktail)
  • 1/2 oz fresh orange juice
  • 1/4 oz simple syrup, optional
  • 4 oz chilled Prosecco or other sparkling wine
  • Ice, 1 rosemary sprig, orange slice and a few fresh cranberries for garnish

How to make it

  1. Add cranberry juice and orange juice to a wine glass. Taste and stir in syrup if needed.
  2. Fill the glass with ice and slowly pour in the chilled sparkling wine. Give it one gentle stir.
  3. Add rosemary and an orange slice. If using whole cranberries, leave them as garnish; they are tart and firm.

Use a rosemary sprig only as garnish here: there is no need to heat or infuse a syrup. Mix the juices in a pitcher up to a day ahead and refrigerate. Add bubbles to individual glasses just before serving so the drink stays lively. For an alcohol-free spritz, replace the wine with chilled nonalcoholic sparkling wine or sparkling water. More simple bubbles: two-ingredient Prosecco cocktails.
